New Zealand-born, Brisbane-educated Karmichael Hunt is a member of an elite group that can call themselves a dual code international.

In 2006, at the tender age of 19, he played the first of eleven tests for Rugby League’s Kangaroos. He then went on to become the youngest NRL player to reach 100 first grade games.

Three years later Hunt announced he had signed a three-year, $3 million contract with the AFL’s fledgling Gold Coast Suns. The versatile utility back eventually returned to his rugby roots in 2015 when he joined the Queensland Reds and made his Super Rugby debut against the Brumbies in Canberra.

Despite his obvious pedigree, Hunt had to wait until 2017 to play his maiden Test, against Fiji in Melbourne.
