This FREE public event will feature action aplenty for girls, boys, mums and dads from 12-6pm with matches between Sydney Junior Rugby Union under 11 and under 13 teams plus rugby skill zones, races, kids’ games, face painting and giveaways from major sponsor Wahu throughout.

A host of NSW Waratahs squad members will also be on hand to meet fans and present awards.

Beach Rugby 5s Rules

Beach Rugby 5s is played on the sand, with 5 players in each team, using a straight-forward and simple format, developed to create a fast and exciting display.

A match lasts 10 minutes, and the most significant difference between Beach 5s and the traditional game of Rugby is the 2 Second Rule: “When the ball carrier goes into contact with an opponent or is tackled by an opponent, the ball carrier must pass or release the ball within 2 Seconds”

That’s it! Anyone can play as long as they are happy to get a bit sandy…
